On Our Way Home

Our first sea day cruising back to Cape Liberty dawned warm with calm seas.

There were no hurricanes in store so we anticipated a smooth ride.

Around noon things still looked OK.

It was time to try some onboard activity. Dave and Veronica opted for rock climbing.

You had to use special shoes and a harness for safety’s sake.

Here they are hooking up the harness.

Apparently this is the moderately difficult climb. Veronica made it look pretty easy.

Ring baby ring! Then the attendant lets you down.

She is a very athletic girl, to be sure.

Dave is a pretty good climber as well.

He rang the bell, and down he came.

Veronica on her way up the difficult slope.

Ding ding! Was there any doubt.

She made it look easy. Not a lot to hold on to with this climb.

Dave tries the moderate climb that Veronica conquered earlier.

One ringy-dingy.

And dad is on his way down. They both did great.

Time for a cool drink in the Windjammer where we met Thabang, our assistant waiter from South Africa.

The last day of the cruise was cooler and cloudy. We were on our way to the Northern climes again.

There were some showers around, but we were packing at the time so it wasn’t a problem.

We have had a great time, so we aren’t too sad to get ready to leave.

Nonna and Susannah had a card game while Sarah was packing.

Later on things brightened up a bit outside.

It won’t be long and we’ll be cruising into New York Harbor.

Early Saturday morning and we are getting close to the Verrazano Bridge.

Looks like it’s going to be a lovely day to start our drive home.

Not too far to go now.

A last view of the New York skyline as we get ready to turn around and back into the pier.

Our luggage was one of the first groups off the ship, so we disembarked, got through customs and we were on the road to Dickson City by 8:30 AM. Smooth and easy.

That concludes our cruise story. If you have read all the posts, good for you. I hope you enjoyed a look at the Caribbean from the decks of Liberty of the Seas.
