I’m Not Susie

So says my younger granddaughter Susannah. She doesn’t like anybody messing with her name.

Of course, if you interchanged her Christian names she could be Peggy Sue. But I am not going down that rabbit hole thank you.

Susannah is happy that her age will have matching digits when she celebrates her birthday tomorrow. It’s hard to believe how quickly she’s grown.

She’s finishing up her time in elementary school and next year will join her siblings at the secondary level.

I would describe her as a typical tweener – she loves dressing up and having lip gloss, but still enjoys her stuffed animals. Grandpa loves teasing her but she takes it in good humor – actually gives back as much as she takes.

She is a fine scholar like her mother was – I think she’ll go as far as she wants to.

Her Nonna and I had a pre-birthday celebration on the weekend but I wish her all the love in the world on her actual day tomorrow. I’m sure she has plenty of plans for the day.

Happy birthday dear Susannah and I hope I’m around to see you celebrate another double-digit anniversary.
